Lincoln City Town Hall Meeting – City Hall/Library Development Plans

Lincoln City’s City Council members are asking for input from the public about the future
of Lincoln Square, which consist of City Hall, Driftwood Public Library, and McKay’s
Market. The City invites residents and business owners to the Town Hall meetings to
provide feedback on how the City should proceed with the future of Lincoln Square.
With a combined anticipated cost of $14 million for known deferred maintenance and
necessary future upgrades, a decision is needed to either renovate the building or relocate
City services to a new location.
A presentation will be given which shows several designs options from modernizing the
current building, to replacing the building on the existing site, to replacing the building on a
new site. After the presentation, feedback from the audience will be accepted on what
option would be preferred.
Whichever option is decided upon, it will require a tax levy. This levy would go to the voters
on the November 2026 ballot.

Los miembros del Concejo Municipal de Lincoln City solicitan la opinión popular sobre el futuro de Lincoln Square, que incluye el Ayuntamiento, la Biblioteca Pública Driftwood y el mercado McKay’s. La Ciudad invita a residentes y propietarios de negocios a las reuniones comunitarias (“Town Hall”) para compartir sus ideas sobre cómo debería proceder con el futuro de Lincoln Square.
Se estima un costo total de 14 millones de dólares para atender el mantenimiento pendiente y las mejoras necesarias a futuro, por lo que es necesario decidir entre renovar el edificio actual o trasladar los servicios municipales a una nueva ubicación.
Durante las reuniones se presentarán varias opciones de diseño, que van desde modernizar el edificio existente, reconstruirlo en el mismo lugar o construir uno completamente nuevo en otro sitio. Después de la presentación, se invitará a la audiencia a dar su opinión sobre la opción que prefieren.
Cualquiera que sea la opción seleccionada, requerirá un gravamen fiscal. Este gravamen se someterá a votación en la papeleta de noviembre de 2026.
