Public Works provides essential services to the citizens of Lincoln City in a safe, efficient, courteous, and cost-effective manner.  Public Works, through its dedicated employees, strives to plan, design, build, maintain, and operate public infrastructure in a manner that respects the environment and the ability of government to adequately preserve these assets for future generations.

• To know where each of our assets are located and what condition they are in.

  Objective #1:  To receive complete As-Builts Drawings from contractors when each project is completed

  Objective #2: To conduct video inspections and on-site visual inspections to determine asset conditions.

• To maintain each of our assets to be in the best working condition as possible.

  Objective #1:  To conduct routine maintenance on our assets.

  Objective #2:  To make timely repairs when needed.

• To plan for future projects that enables the city to improve safety and accessibility.

  Objective #2:  To determine locations in the city where the safety and accessibility of citizens are in jeopardy due to existing conditions.

   Objective #3:  To plan, design and budget for replacing existing assets, as well as for new assets.

Efficient and clean water service within the water service area.

Measurements:          

• By meeting and exceeding State and Federal water quality requirements.
• Producing less water at the water treatment plant due to replacing and repairing water pipes that leak.

Efficient wastewater collections and environmentally friendly treatment within the wastewater collections service area.

Measurements:

• By meeting and exceeding State and Federal wastewater quality requirements.
• By reducing the cost for treating bio-solids.
• By reducing the amount of chemicals released back into Schooner Creek.
• By reducing the number of sewer overflows and sewer spills.
• By reducing the amount of infiltration of ground water into our collections/sewer system

Provide safe and durable streets within the city limits.

Measurements:

• By having 85% of our roads meet the Good or Fair condition standards in the State Pavement Condition Standards
• By implementing projects that have been identified in the Lincoln City Walking and Biking Plan and in the Lincoln City Transportation System Plan.
